What is the time commitment?
The Drill/Drum/Dance Innovators program is year-round. Fall recruits commit to drill/drum October of one year to October of the next year. Spring recruits commit to March through December. The dance portion is September of one year to October of the next year.
Practices for all three teams are held Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:00-7:00 pm, September through May and 5:00-8:00 pm, June through August. Extra practices are announced ahead of time and required of all participants.
Is it possible to be involved with 3DI and other activities?
Attendance at practice is critical. Arrangements can be made if possible, but your family must make its priorities before joining Dakota 3DI. Quitting during the season disrupts the teams' performances and practices.
What are the fees?
Yearly usage fees apply to all new and returning members. These fees help allay the cost of uniforms, costumes, clinic/workshops, equipment upkeep, and other costs to the program. Current new member fees are $55. Returning members: $25 dance/drill, $40 drill, and $40 drum.
After-School Program/Homework Club
How do I enroll my child(ren)?
Enrollment opens in July of each year. If we receive more applications than there are slots, we start a waiting list. We work down the waiting list in first-come, first-serve order as slots become available.
What is the cost?
We are able to offer the Homework Club free of charge to all participants because it is a curriculum-based program funded through the United Way and Montgomery County.
Are there required activities to remain in the program?
The Homework Club is about more than homework! The Dakota Center seeks to develop character-driven citizens in the youth that we serve. Therefore, all enrolled after-school participants attend activities in character development, etiquette, and financial literacy.
